Twin toddlers drown after grandmother with Alzheimer’s leaves door open – rest in peace

Oklahoma Twins Drown in Backyard Pool in Tragic Accident

In a heartbreaking incident in Oklahoma City, 18-month-old twins Locklyn and Loreli Callazzo drowned in their family’s backyard pool after reportedly slipping outside unnoticed. Authorities say their great-grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, may have unintentionally left a door open, allowing the toddlers to wander out.

Their mother, Jenny Callazzo, discovered the tragedy in the pool’s murky water. Just days earlier, she had shared a photo of the twins with the caption, “just want to play outside.”

“Drowning is often silent — every second counts,” experts warn, urging parents to implement strict pool safety, including fences and locked gates.

The Callazzo household includes six children and extended family members. While police believe the drowning was accidental, the investigation continues.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist the family with funeral and medical expenses. The devastating loss has shaken the local community, prompting an outpouring of prayers, condolences, and reminders about the importance of water safety for young children.
