The disclosures regarding former President Joe Biden’s declining health during his time in office have drawn attention to the remarks made by the leaders of his administration at that period.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary of the White House, was one of the most outspoken officials advocating for Biden’s physical and mental resilience. She previously refuted claims that the former president was experiencing cognitive decline or other health issues as early as 2022.
In June 2022, Jean-Pierre appeared taken aback when former CNN anchor Don Lemon inquired whether Biden possessed the “stamina” to fulfill a second term.
“That is not a question we ought to be asking,” she remarked, subsequently noting that the claims regarding Biden’s diminishing cognitive abilities were merely “hearsay.”
“Don, you are posing this question to me. My goodness. He holds the position of President of the United States… simply observe the efforts he undertakes. Furthermore, consider how he is serving the American people,” she remarked.
During a press conference held in August 2023, Jean-Pierre addressed allegations suggesting that Biden was concluding his engagements as early as 10 a.m. due to what were described as “ridiculous assumptions” stemming from his fatigue. When questioned the following month about whether Biden’s staff “treats him like a baby,” the press secretary responded sharply.
“No individual treats the President of the United States, who serves as the commander in chief, in a condescending manner akin to that of a child. Such an assertion is absurd. It is an absurd allegation,” she replied.
Following Special Counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to pursue charges against Biden regarding the purported mishandling of classified documents last year, on the grounds that a jury would view him as a sympathetic “elderly man with a poor memory,” Jean-Pierre remarked that his evaluation “does not align with reality.”
“The truth is, that report, specifically that section of the report, does not reflect reality. It simply does not. It is excessive. It is intolerable, and it does not align with reality,” Pierre stated at that time.
In their latest publication, “Original Sin,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson disclose disturbing insights into the operations of the Biden White House, indicating that the president’s senior aides were attempting to hide his alleged cognitive decline from both the public and his own Cabinet.
The book states that Biden frequently forgot the names of his staff members, Cabinet secretaries were prohibited from meeting the then-president, his aides openly speculated whether he would need a wheelchair should he serve a second term, and he did not recognize prominent supporter George Clooney during their in-person encounter at a 2024 fundraiser.
In a June 2024 interview with MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace, she referred to videos depicting Biden as confused or weak as “cheap fakes” and asserted that they were founded on “misinformation.”
Jean-Pierre remained resolute at the podium following Biden’s debate performance in June, which astonished Democrats and initiated a movement to exclude him from the 2024 race. She previously remarked that Biden had become more skillful than in the past.
Peter Doocy from Fox News inquired of Jean-Pierre whether there was a White House “cover-up” regarding his health following his withdrawal from the campaign in July of the previous year.
“To begin with, there has not been any concealment,” Jean-Pierre stated to Doocy, further emphasizing, “I wish to clarify this point very distinctly.”
Following her encouragement for her husband to seek re-election, despite his mental challenges and the possible presence of prostate cancer, a veteran opinion columnist at the Washington Post is alleging that former First Lady Jill Biden is engaging in “elder abuse.”
