The uncle-niece team of Joseph B. Clarke (Jojo) and BriโAnna Harper made a big impression on the AGT judges with their outstanding auditions. Both have performed online. The first time they performed in front of a live audience was, however, during the AGT performance.
Jojo has previously participated in AGT and had made an appearance during Season 15 as a member of the vocal group Resound. They were, regrettably, defeated in the quarterfinals. The musician said, โNever to give up,โ when asked what he had learned from his prior experience.
Bri responded enthusiastically to the judgesโ question about what she would do with a million dollars, saying that she โwanted to make the world happy and make the world a better place.โ So if she ever won the money, she would donate it back to charity.
For their AGT Season 17 auditions, Jojo and Bri chose the classic song, โAinโt No Mountain High Enough.โ Briโs vocal chops were excellent. Both of them surprised the audience as they gave a performance that showed a happy vibe.
All the AGT judges and the audience present at the auditions gave the performers a standing ovation. Simon Cowell told the singers, โThat, for me, was the definition of joy and magic.โ
The little girl Bri was unable to stop smiling as she was praised by all the judges. Howie Mandel spoke about the uncle and niece as a set and told everyone, โI loved it,โ โI think this whole room loved it. I think people in America loved it. But even more important, youโre going to be remembered.โ
The uncle-and-niece duoโs performance earned them 4 โyeses,โ sending them to the next round of AGT. The effortless singing and matured voice, along with her uncleโs talented singing, gave their performance a wow factor.
